Radisson Blu Hotel GRT Chennai, a five-star property located in the heart of the city, celebrated the 25th anniversary of The Great Kabab Factory on January 31 with style.
On the occasion, the hotel hosted a series of events throughout the day starting with “The GReaT Foodie Summit”. The welcome note was delivered by the CEO of GRT Hotels & Resort, Vikram Cotah, who introduced the summit by saying “The Great Kabab Factory is a celebration of the cuisine of the ‘Hindukush’ region, perfected over the last 25 years by culinary geniuses. It is the perfect place to taste your way through India’s history and spices. The menu celebrates North Western Frontier cuisine with its melt-in-your-mouth kababs; rich, complex, creamy dals; and robust, mouthwatering biryanis.”
The first event was a food styling and photography workshop by Saba Gaziyani.
Saba is one of Asia’s leading food stylists. She showcased the nuances of food photography that prevailed in pre-social media era and is still relevant in the current scenario and how we can make food pictures more appetising.
This was followed by a panel discussion on the Future of Food, led by top chefs in the industry, including Varun Inamdar, Sabyasachi Gorai, Joseph Chahine and Seetharam Prasad and moderated by Ashwin Rajagopalan.
The panel spoke about their perspective on the future of food and the direction that it is taking towards health, wellness and sustainability.
As part of the anniversary celebration there was an especially curated lunch that offered an unforgettable experience of North Western Frontier cuisine.
The Great Kabab Factory’s dedication to preserving traditional cooking methods and showcasing the rich flavours of the North Western Frontier cuisine is truly commendable. With 250 varieties of kababs, creamy dals, and mouth-watering biryanis, there was something for everyone to enjoy.
The live kitchens added to the overall experience, with the aromas and flavours coming to life right before everyone’s eyes.
It’s always great to see restaurants celebrating and preserving traditional cuisines and cooking techniques. It allows everyone to appreciate and learn more about the rich cultural heritage and diversity of the region.
