After three hugely successful seasons, FoodFood Awards was back with a bang for its fourth season. Godrej Vikhroli Cucina FoodFood Top 30 Restaurant Awards 2022 with Magazine Partner Hospitality Horizon brought together the best of the food and hospitality industry.
The prestigious award was hosted by General Manager Kunal Chauhan at the magnificent lawns of the JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar on December 20. The gala awards was anchored by renowned food writer, author and TV personality Kunal Vijayakar and celebrated food expert, TV host and author Rashmi Uday Singh who kept the audience enthralled with their ready wit, abundant charm and extraordinary knowledge of the culinary world. The Powered by Partners for the awards were Haier, Maggi Professional, Ching’s Secret, Urban Platter, Bhartiya Mall Of Bengaluru & The Leela Bhartiya City Bengaluru, Catch Salt & Spices and Baskin Robbins.
Industry Partners included Massive Restaurants, The Leela Palaces Hotels & Resorts, EHV, Radisson Hotel Group, GIPL Restaurants, Chalet Hotels and GRT Hotels & Resorts.
On the other hand, Dawaat, Tata Sampann Yumside & Tata Simply Better, Callebaut & Cacao Barry, Godrej Yummiez & Godrej Vegoils, Vistara, USA Pistachios, Bisleri Vedica, IIHM, Victorinox, Fodxpert, Ballentine’s, Wonderchef and Premier Printers were Associate Partners. The event was put together by Trikaya Media Group.
It was a night to remember as the who’s who of the food and hospitality industry descended from across the length and breadth of country to celebrate excellence. The glittering evening was also attended by celebrities and top business leaders.
With an amazing spread of the best of food from across JW Marriott hotels, there was never a dull moment. It was, by all accounts, an evening to remember. It also set the standards and raised the bar for awards as the titans of the food and hospitality industry clashed for the top positions.
The awards recognised the top 30 restaurants in India in order of votes by the Grand Jury and Esteemed Directors comprising the leading lights of the food and hospitality industry including top hoteliers and restaurateurs and leading chefs while the editorial choice awards were decided by the editorial board.
The awards were held under the stewardship of Chairman of the Jury Nakul Anand, chairman of FAITH, and Co-Chairperson Priya Paul, Chairperson, Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels. Sanjeev Kapoor, Founder, FoodFood TV was the mentor and KB Kachru, Chairman Emeritus, South Asia, Radisson Hotel Group and Camellia Panjabi, Queen of Indian Food were the chief advisors.
The Executive Committee comprised Rocky Mohan, Founder Mentor, Chef Pin, Gautam Anand, Founding Trustee, Cuisine India Foundation and Siddharth Mohan, Founder & CEO, Chef Pin. The awards were curated by Shafquat Ali, CEO, Trikaya Media Group and Publisher & Editor-in-Chief, Hospitality Horizon magazine.
The top winners of the evening were: Nakul Anand, Chairman, FAITH, who was honoured with the Outstanding Exemplar in the Promotion of Travel Tourism & Hospitality Award; Anuraag Bhatnagar, COO, The Leela Palace, Hotels and Resorts, who was accorded with the Hall of Fame Award; Puneet Dhawan, Senior VP, India & South Asia, Accor, who bagged the Hotelier of the Year Award; and Zorawar Kalra, Founder & MD, Massive Restaurants, who won the Restaurateur of the Year Award.
Tanveer Kwatra, GM, W Goa and Shaariq Akhtar, GM, ITC Kohenur, Hyderabad, were declared joint winners for General Manager of the Year; Executive Chef Nikhil Nagpal, Avartana, ITC Hotels and Executive Chef Sandeep Pande, JW Marriott Hotel New Delhi Aerocity were joint winners for the Chef of the Year Award; and Harpal Singh Sokhi bagged the Celebrity Chef of the Year Award.
In addition, Deepak Jeena, F&B Manager, The Leela Ambience Gurugram Hotel & Residences won the F&B Person of the Year Award while Mohammad Mofid of Sheraton, New Delhi, picked up the Indian Culinary Master Craftsman Award. ITC Narmada, Ahmedabad and Raffles Udaipur were declared joint winners for the Best New Hotel of the Year Award.
