Swati’s association with Accor commenced in
2007 and ever since she has been a key player in
its growth. Her duties constitute the
administering of joint venture affairs and
providing integral legal counsel to board
members on critical business affairs.
With her ingenious leadership, Swati has
been at the forefront of compelling significant
transactions and managing lucrative
opportunities in India and South Asia, most
notably in successfully concluding deals for the
famed Raffles and Fairmont branded hotels.

How do you manage work-life balance?
Expecting the unexpected is my motto before
beginning each day, as daily there is a new
challenge. Extinguishing these small fires and
fulfilling the expectations of all stakeholders in
business, along with multitasking chores at
home is how I thrive in this balance.
At work, my primary focus remains to
support development and ensure an increase in
the footprint across the region. I am part of a
close-knit legal community at Accor and share
our learnings in order to keep up with changing
regulations. We design policies to support the
business, and spread awareness while
continuing to enforce a compliance-driven
approach such that we are always prepared to
tackle challenges resulting from new-age
technology and increasing social media
influence on our guests and employees.

What inspires you?
The hustle and the juggle between home and
work is what keeps me going. Professionally,
pacifying an irate guest, ensuring a pleasant
experience regardless of their personal
problems is awe-inspiring, and humbling at the
same time. It is heartening to see other female
leaders and colleagues who continue to stride
ahead despite all odds in order to make a mark
for themselves in this difficult and demanding
industry.
